The moment you see this new quilt by Scott Flanagan, you will immediately appreciate the layout. Blocks lead into other blocks, sashing intersects, and the various elements blend the fabrics in a perfectly balanced design. 24" blocks are each so unique they do not appear to be blocks. Is that the illusion? Banyan batiks' palette ranges from golds and russet to greyed greens, teal, sapphire, and amethyst, along with soothing grays and a defining black inner border that pulls it all together. Techniques include traditional piecing, paper piecing, and some simple appliques.
The finished quilt measures 88" x 112".
